Founded in 1911, UPORTO is one of the largest higher education and research institutions in Portugal with 31,309 students (19% international, including mobility), 2,436 academics & researchers and 1,576 administrative staff. It has 14 Faculties, 1 Business School and 60 research centres.
UPORTO is one of the best-positioned PT HEI in international rankings: QS (328); Leiden (145); NTU (218). It is the first choice of around 23% of the PT applicants to the HE System and also is responsible for 24.8% of the scientific production. Internationalisation is a strategic pillar, allowing the development of existing collaborations, as well as the establishment of innovative cooperation activities with institutions from all over the world (2,200 agreements).
The Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE), established by Stephen R. Stoer and colleagues in 1988 at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto, is a research centre funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). The research carried out at CIIE includes educational issues, with emphasis on dimensions related to educational and social inequalities and exclusions, in line with the goals of the European Union and the Council of Europe for the ‘promotion of equity, social cohesion and active citizenship’ and with the goals of ‘Europe 2020’ for sustainable and inclusive growth. There are several funded research projects underway at the Centre, some with strong international cooperation and funding, and focusing on, among other topics, curricular and pedagogical innovation, educational and institutional assessment, training of human action and professional development, deafness and cultures, health education, and the analysis of educational and social policies. CIIE has also been recognised for its wide involvement in scientific research projects focused on issues of inter and multicultural education, gender studies and ethnic minorities, and educational and cultural heritage.

OKA is as a regional development agency established in 2008 in the Middle Blacksea Region in Turkey. As it has been emphasised in the Yeşilırmak River Basin Regional Development Plan, between 2007-2023 the mission of OKA is to avoid economic and social disparities between regions and balance the region with other 26 in Turkey. The Establishment Law No. 5449 gives the Development Agencies various responsibilities in order to facilitate regional development increase the institutional capacity in NUTSII Region.
A OKA é uma agência de desenvolvimento regional, criada em 2008, na Região do Mar Negro, na Turquia. Conforme referido no Plano de Desenvolvimento Regional da Bacia do Rio Yeşilırmak, entre 2007 e 2023, a missão da OKA é evitar disparidades económicas e sociais entre as regiões e equilibrar a região com outras 26 na Turquia. A Lei do Estabelecimento nº 5449 atribui às Agências de Desenvolvimento várias responsabilidades, a fim de facilitar o desenvolvimento regional e aumentar a capacidade institucional da Região.

Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN University) has about 13,000 students and 950 staff members, and operates on six campuses in south-eastern Norway. The University offers 35 one-year study programmes, 52 BA programmes, 31 MA programmes and 4 Ph.D. programmes in addition to teacher education and a number of further education programmes. INN University’s academic offer covers a vast number of subject areas: ecology and agricultural sciences, psychology, sports, law, music, pedagogy, health sciences, social sciences, teacher education, language and literature, biotechnology, film, television and culture, tourism, animation and game sciences and economics.
